Italian Roast Espresso – Dark Roast Coffee

Our Italian Roast Espresso is our darkest roasted coffee available and perhaps the darkest roast in Pittsburgh. We roast the beans farther than most roasters are willing to go to give you a spicy, smokey, deep note to the cup. Do not let the name fool you, you can use Espresso Italian roast in any brewing method you prefer. And conversely, you can use any coffee in an espresso machine! An espresso roast is normally formulated to work well in milk-based drinks such as a cappuccino, or flat white. That does not mean you cannot make a French press of this smokey dark chocolate noted coffee! This coffee was formulated in the style of second-wave Italian coffee that holds up to milk and heavy flavoring. Not for the faint of heart. For something still dark but slightly lighter, try the French or Vienna Roast.
