Description

CellarPro 1800H-ECX Cooling Unit

NOW WITH ENERGY-EFFICIENT EC FANS!

CellarPro engineered the 1800H-ECX cooling unit specifically for shallow-depth glass wine cellars.

Just 10 1/2-inches deep and 10-inches tall, the 1800H-ECX Houdini cooling unit is designed to “disappear” inside – or atop – the cellar. Dual independent variable-speed fans offer flexibility to trade-off between super-quiet operation vs maximum performance.

For example, assuming 75F ambient temperature, R13 insulation in the non-glass walls and no ducting, the 1800H-ECX would work in the following cellars:

SPEC SHEET

1864 SENSIBLE BTUH @ 55F.CellarPro 1800H-ECX Cooling Unit (P/N 25544). CellarPro’s 1800H-ECX cooling unit (1/4 Ton Nominal) is the first cooling unit designed specifically forshallow-depthglass-enclosed wine cellars, and uses energy-efficient variable-speed EC fans for maximum performance.

Just 10 1/2-inches deep and 10-inches tall, with both cold-side airflows at the bottom of the cooling unit, the 1800H-ECX Houdini is designed to sit inside or atop the cellar and “disappear” within the cellar. Dual independent variable-speed fans offer flexibility to trade-off between super-quiet operation vs maximum performance.

For example, assuming 75F ambient temperature, R13 insulation in the non-glass walls and no ducting, the 1800H-ECX would work in the following cellars:

All air-cooled refrigeration equipment requires fresh air intake to dissipate the heat generated by the cooling unit. The fresh air intake CANNOT come from the wine cellar space – it must come from space outside the cellar.

Features include:

  • Shallow height and depth

    • Fits shallow glass enclosures
    • 10 1/2″D x 10″H
    • 36 1/2″W
  • Can be placed inside the cellar, atop the cellar, partially installed in the cellar ceiling, or completely remote from the cellar and ducted.
  • When not ducted:
    • Choice of airflows for cold side
      • Intake from bottom or left side
      • Exhaust from bottom or front side
      • Air deflector optional
    • Choice of airflows for hot side:
      • Intake from top or right side
      • Exhaust from the rear or the top side (the top exhaust offers 2 orientations)
      • Air deflector optional
  • When Ducted
    • Choice of airflows for the cold side:
      • Up to 50 equivalent feet (25′ per duct) with required 8-inch insulated ducting
      • Intake from the left / exhaust from the front
      • High fan speed required for ducted installations
      • Auxilary fans should never be used on the cold side
    • Choice of airflows for the hot side:
      • Up to 50 equivalent feet (25′ per duct) and 85F maximum intake temperature (no auxiliary fan required) with required 6-inch ducting
      • With an auxiliary inline fan, up to 100 equivalent feet (50′ per duct) and 95F maximum intake temperature
      • Intake and exhaust from the top
      • High fan speed required for ducted installations
    • When ducting a Houdini cooling unit:

      • Our OEM duct hoodsmustbe used, otherwise our warranty will be voided
      • The HIGH fan speedsmustbe used
  • When not ducted, thecondenser fan settingdepends on the ambient temperature
    • Low fan speed (49 dBA): 85F maximum intake temperature
    • High fan speed: (55 dBA): 95F maximum intake temperature
    • If ducted, the high fan speed must always be used
  • When not ducted, theevaporator fan settingdepends on the following conditions:
    • Higher cooling loads from warmer ambient temperatures require high fan speed
    • Lower setpoint / colder desired cellar temperature requires high fan speed
    • Sensible BTUH @ 55F on low fan speed is 1456 BTUH, and 51F is the lowest achievable cellar temperature
    • Sensible BTUH @ 55F on high fan speed is 1864 BTUH, and 47F is the lowest achievable cellar temperature
  • Energy-efficient variable-speed EC fans with independent controls – choose between performance vs noise
  • Oversized stainless-steel drain pan with 100W heating element
    • Drain line not required for properly constructed, airtight cellars
    • Condensate Drain Line: strongly recommended for wine cellar installations that are not airtight, the drain line allows excess moisture to drain from the the cooling unit(1606).
    • NOTE: If the cellar is not properly constructed and airtight, our warranty does not cover damage from excess condensation, even when the condensate drain line is added to equipment.
  • 110V Power source:
    • Choice of side or rear
    • Removable 10-ft cord
  • Bottle probe for use in liquid MUST be used with Houdinis

    • The HY setting on the cooling unit must be changed to 1
    • We recommend using the probe filled with water and 10% rubbing alcohol to keep the water from developing mold
    • The bottle with the probe should be located inside the cellar, near the top of the cellar, in a central location with good airflow (ie not buried in the racks nor in a corner)
